Reducing Stress this Holiday Season

Be less stressed this Holiday Season

Who doesn’t feel as if there aren’t enough hours in the day?  We rush through the day, ending up exhausted and still feeling that we did not accomplish what we needed to do.

With the holidays’ fast approaching our normal busy lives become even more so.  We need to find ways to slow down and enjoy our time with friends and family; time to take a breath for ourselves.

My Health Journey

I was so excited to enroll in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a certified Health Coach.  To think that I will be able to help myself, my family and others to a healthier, happier life style was overwhelming.  I knew going into this program that I would not be able to give up all of the food I love, such as, chocolate, birthday cake, ice cream, more chocolate and a nice glass of wine.  Going through this journey I now know that I don't have to give up my "junk" foods.

Living Healthy with Kenrese Young

Integrative Nutrition graduates are finding their calling to help others heal in various aspects of their lives. We caught up with Kenrese Young, Motivational Speaker and Health Coach to find out more about her practice and how Integrative Nutrition's Health Coach Training Program impacted her life.

What were you doing before Integrative Nutrition?

Before Integrative Nutrition I was working as a Senior Product Development Executive. I was also actively searching for my purpose as I felt there was more I could be doing.

What led you to explore Integrative Nutrition’s program?

Parents Step Up Their Game in the War Against Childhood Obesity

There’s a war going on out there, and some Philadelphia parents are taking matters into their own hands.

School lunch reform is something that we are in dire need of in this country. People know it and steps are being taken, but the pace is slow and special interest groups are doing their best to inhibit real change. But schools are not the only places where kids are eating junk.

Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead

At 310lbs with a gut the size of a beach ball, Joe Cross did something amazing. He loaded up his car with a generator, a juicer, and a camera and set off on a journey to find himself – and save his life in the process.

He traded in his junk food and spent the next 60 days and 3,000 miles drinking only fresh fruit juice and vegetable juice in an attempt to regain balance in his life and get off the medications for good.

Health Has The Upper Hand in “Battlefield: School Lunch”

Healthy bodies make healthy minds, and so it makes sense that serving kids junk not only makes their bodies unhealthy, but affects their academic abilities as well. Add to that the alarmingly high (and rising!) obesity rate and the fact that overweight and obese children often become overweight and obese adults, it starts to become clear: something has to change.

Color Your Plate Healthy

How are you doing with your New Year’s resolution?

Every year millions of Americans make resolutions on January 1st. Many of them have something to do with improving health and wellness. But by February 1st a majority of those resolutions have gone right out the window.

Since 1980 the American Dietetic Associate has been providing a gentle springtime reminder by celebrating National Nutrition Month in March. Each year there is a theme to help us eat better and be healthier. This year’s theme is “Eat Right with Color.”
